Dooks golf links established 1889 is an out of the way municipal golf course on Dingle Bay. A very picturesque location for a golf course. 

If you are searching for a premium golf experience, Dooks is probably not it.  There are no special tee gifts, not even yardage books for sale in our experience. The course was very obviously a muni, lacking any memorable holes. Additionally, it was in very poor shape. The caddies were very crusty and over-estimated yardage on just about every shot from 150 yards. One of the caddies was more interested in scavenging bottle tops out of the trash (for some reason we could not figure out) than being at your ball when you get there. 

If you have an afternoon tee time they will point out that the golf shop will close before you finish your round and you should buy memorabilia (of a round you likely won’t care to remember) before you even start the round.

– Shopping: Small pro shop with decent merchandise at pretty good prices. Don’t forget to ask for 20% off as it seems they are mostly motivated to move merchandise.

BBF or “Big Ball First” comes from a golf saying for hitting a shot fat. Or hitting the “big ball first” in that you hit the ground (the big ball) before hitting the golf ball.
