Western Ireland: Tralee
Tralee is about an hour from Killarney on the Bay of Tralee. The golf course is from the late 1800s, but it’s current configuration was put together by Arnold Palmer in the 1980s. The golf course is unique. Basically every hole has a view of the water and the front 9 has ancient stone fences that are left for effect, but very much can come into play for the errant or poorly advised shot. Wind and weather can be a factor at Tralee. Be sure to leave time after your round for drinks in the clubhouse. The restaurant has a magnificent view of the golf course and the water behind it. When making a trip to Western Ireland Tralee is a must visit.
